Anthema, 2022

Six speakers create a circular formation around a metal pulpit, a witness stand left empty and habitable. The phrase “YOU LOOK SO PRETTY” and, twice, the word “LIAR” are etched on it as patriarchal labels that question the spectator. A choir of male voices grows louder and louder around the listener, decreeing the image policy for the iconoclast dystopian society the artist has imagined as a framework for the exhibition.
